We are currently seeking a Team Leader or an experienced Support Worker for an established OFSTED registered Residential Children's Home in Burton-On-Trent.

The children's home is part of a successful and reputable children's services care group, which offers the highest quality service provision for children and young people in their Residential Children's Homes nationwide.

You must have a minimum 1 years’ experience as a Team Leader in a Children's Residential Home setting or are an experienced Support Worker with NVQ Level 3 - Children and Young Peoples Workforce.

Requirements

NVQ 3 In Children and Young People or equivalent.
- Full driving license with access to own transport.
- Ability to work shifts and Sleep-ins.
- Successful applicant must be over the age of 21.
- 1+ Years of crisis support experience.

Responsibilities


• Ability to plan for & lead shift
• The appropriate planning of shifts
• The completion/delegation of tasks and duties
• Ensure plans for young people is implemented and achieved
• Demonstrate good communication skills to outside agencies and represent the company in a positive
manner in respective meetings etc
• To develop a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory inspection, standards and requirements
• Work within the homes daily processes of administration
• Develop good knowledge of the paperwork and requirements
• Undertake management of and distribution of petty cash
• Ensure reports etc. is appropriately compiled and documented
• Ensure young people’s daily records are completed
• Undertake and deliver detailed handovers
• Working with young people
• To plan for and understand face to face interventions with young people
• To implement strategies by which to engage young people in activities
• To supervise and monitor young people whereabouts
• Support young people to achieve agreed plans and outcomes of individual care plans and risk
assessments etc.
• Ensure medication is appropriately administered/ audited and recorded
• Ensure young people’s daily needs is communicated
Devise/update risk assessments
• Know how to write/ update/ evaluate risk assessments
• Know how to write/ update/ evaluate care plans
• Key discussions / direct work
• Understand when a discussion becomes a key discussion-instead of just information for daily
records
• Young people’s meetings
• Ensuring these take place weekly and are recorded in detail
• Ensure that meetings achieve regulatory aims and objective
• Ensure that weekly menus are in place
• Check that the menus are followed, and food logs are completed
• Ensure daily checks are carried out and are accurately recorded
• Report Health and Safety issues/ concerns/ incidents
• Ensure all incidents are recorded/reported
• Have a full understanding of all safeguarding procedures
• Knowledge of what action to take in any given scenario
