Gold Care Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Regulation 44 Independent Visitor to carry out monthly independent visits to children’s residential homes in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
This role is ideal for professionals experienced in Reg 44 inspections, independent monitoring, and Ofsted compliance within children’s residential care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake monthly Regulation 44 visits to children’s residential homes
- Carry out independent inspections in line with Ofsted expectations
- Engage with children, staff, and registered managers
- Review safeguarding, care quality, leadership, and compliance
- Produce clear, independent Reg 44 reports within required timescales
- Identify good practice and areas for improvement
- Maintain confidentiality and professional independence
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Regulation 44 Independent Visitor
- Strong knowledge of children’s residential legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted frameworks
- Excellent report-writing skills and attention to detail
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be fully independent from the services visited
Desirable
- Background in children’s residential care, social work, or inspection
- Experience working with Ofsted-registered children’s homes
- Ability to cover multiple homes or regions
