Lead a Brand-New Specialist School
Gold Care Recruitment is recruiting an exceptional SEN Headteacher on behalf of a respected education provider opening a new independent SEND school in Burton upon Trent (DE14).
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 5–19 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
As the founding Headteacher, you will shape the vision, culture, curriculum and future success of the school while making a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership.
- Develop an outstanding SEND curriculum.
- Lead, recruit and inspire a high-performing staff team.
- Ensure safeguarding and compliance at all times.
- Drive continuous school improvement.
- Build positive relationships with families, Local Authorities and external professionals.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous senior leadership experience within a SEND, SEMH or ASC setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and safeguarding.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
